I just made this and blew it! First I had never used a springform pan and placed it in incorrectly so it leaked and smoked up the house. I also used stevia and a chart I had said to use 3/4 tsp stevia. It smelled good but was so rich and no sweetness to it. Do you suggest sticking to the Erythritol or how much stevia would I use? Will try again. We sooo need something here to snack as we are new to keto.

My husband and I did sugar-free January, including giving up honey and maple syrup (we did keep wine and unsweetened dried fruit!). I was on long acting insulin at 44 units twice daily. Short acting insulin three times daily at 25 units each. It was through the lchf eating changes I was able to get down to 5 units twice daily of the long acting and 3 units of short acting twice daily.Quite a difference in med changes. Cholesterol readings went from over 400 down to little over 200. A1c from over 9 to 7. All in a 30 day period. I had only been doing lchf for 30 days when tested. Lost 13 pounds. Stressful times hit me and started eating again. Just now getting back to lchf eating because I know this works. I need this for myself. I felt better, got around better, was much happier. It took time and constant monitoring to reduce my insulins under medial supervision. Was told to keep doing whatever it was I was doing by my pimary care as well as my endocrinologist.

Ok it didnt take long to solidify well in the freezer so that’s reassuring. It tasted great and didnt feel like a weird texture when consuming it. I could not taste the cimmamon at all so idk if i would bother adding at all next time. I did omit the salt this first try as well. Not a fan of salty chocolates. Curious how this would taste with peanut butter mixed in as well. But right now all i was seeking was a plain chunk of chocolate that wouldnt interefere much with a gestational diabetes issue. Diabetes runs in my family, though and when at the store.. i DID find a bar of sugar free from a very good brand, but was bothered as usual by the processed food phenomenon of “whats that ingredient? And that one and that one?” So next time… i won’t heat it on as high a heat and will try simpler version. The fat did not separate out in mine.
If you can't have candy with real sugar then these are passable, but not much better, if at all, than say a Hershey sugar-free dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is usually more dense (so not soft, right?) and not as sweet as milk chocolate. These need a firm bite and the overall taste is just ok (but at least there is no chemical after taste as with some sugar free stuff), but they served the purpose. Main gripe is, at least with this seller, you have to order enough candy bars to supply a neighborhood of diabetes patients (like me). So, still searching, but in the meantime munching away at second of 24 bars!
I have taken my cake out of the oven, I used pyure sweetner and only used 1 cup of it instead of 1 1/3 cup like it said originally, I wish I had read all the suggestions because I would have added that little bit extra almond flour like you suggested. The batter still wasn’t too runny so I figured it would work. I added a couple of drops of orange flavoring and a pinch of salt. I batter was so good I was tempted to eat a little extra batter My springdoem pan did leak but I am not too worried about that. I did need to leave the cake in 10 extra minutes as it wasn’t completely cooked at 30 minutes. I’m so excited to try this, I’ll come back later and give you my opinion on taste

I give 4 stars for the effort to make something good for the diabetes patients.The only thing I did not like at this product is that the sweetness is way TOO strong. These is a problem with most of the American sweet products. I just want to remind to the Americans that the sweet products should have more taste/flavor and less of an avalanche of sugar. This product is a dedicated diabetic friendly product , so, in my opinion, the sugary taste must be diluted/suggested. We need to re-learn from other cultures, particularly from Europeans, how the sweets suppose to be; not aggressive, more like suggested/guessed sweet, and , evidently , much more healthier.The big scale producers might use a scale of sweetness, lets say from 1 to 10 (lets say scale 10 for over 25g sugar per serving), so the customers could make their choice also! First, I want to thank you for all of your dedication and work in providing this site. The difficulty of maintaining a healthy weight is a big problem for so many people. My personal question & issue in staying on Keto is my craving for fresh fruit. This a.m I had a large fresh peach along with my “Bullet Proof” coffee. Have I now sabotaged today’s Keto eating?
This dessert is absolutely delicious! It took me a long time to make it. I’m not much of a cook. It’s a bit expensive but worth it. The only mistake was when preparing the first layer ( cream cheese layer), I put all of the sweeteners in with heavy cream at once which stopped my cream from whipping up. Didn’t make that mistake again. Definitely recommend it!!!! (I used a new method, chocolate whipped cream). Thank you.
Any suggestions for butterscotch pudding to make this with? We always made a half chocolate (on one side not mixed) and half butterscotch which was personal favorites with this combo. No idea where to begin making butterscotch pudding. Will have to research I suppose. BTW we call this Maxine for some reason through our families recipe of this. But I totally get better than sex too. It’s so yummy.
