You will gain control of your appetite and actually want to eat nutritious foods. Wheat and sugary foods no longer appeal (this is from me who used to buy 5kg bags of flour for my baking).
Jamie is right on this, 1 cup of cocoa butter converts to 218 grams. Adding a whole cup of cocoa powder to just 100 grams of cocoa butter would indeed be overwhelming. I recommend that nobody follow the recipe unless they make sure they measure the cup of cocoa butter AFTER it is melted or use a scale to weigh it to 218 grams, thus avoiding this major error in your conversion rate on the cocoa butter.

Any suggestions for butterscotch pudding to make this with? We always made a half chocolate (on one side not mixed) and half butterscotch which was personal favorites with this combo. Made this for my church Christmas Potluck. Flavors were amazing but dish was a soupy mess, even after refrigerating for almost 24hrs. If I make again, i will not add almond milk to pudding and make 1.5-2x more of the whipped cream. I didn’t have enough with the recipe amount and had to run to store for more heavy whipping cream. Greetings i used ingredients exactly. My execution wss different on making the chocolate pudding, after seeing ingredients it looked like chocalte cutard so i made it li ke custard. Skipping on a few of the steps. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely delicious. Everyone wsnts the recipe. Definitely a keeper. Getting the ingredients was the hardest part of this recipe.

Hi Donna, as you have used the same chocolate as me I’ve done some research now. The reason may be that you need to heat the chocolate slowly and gently. Heating it too quickly and too much can cause the cocoa butter and cocoa to separate. I’ve added this info to the recipe and really hope you’ll try the recipe again. By the way, have you tried the Montezuma 100% chocolate with orange nibs? It’s the best tasting unsweetened chocolate ever (it actually tastes great all on its own) and I bet it would be amazing in this cake. Hi Gigi, Low carb and keto is about the balance of macronutrients eaten (fat, protein and carbs), not specifically meat or lack thereof. Most people on keto do eat meat, though some people do vegetarian keto. Fat is actually necessary for many body processes. There is no issue for the kidneys with a high fat diet, but if you eat too much protein that isn’t great for the kidneys. It’s a common misconception that keto is high protein (it isn’t). Keto is great for diabetics as it naturally helps stabilize insulin. All of this being said, please know I’m not a doctor and you should consult your doctor on any medical questions or before starting any diet. If you want to lose weight, then cut the carbs down until you start dropping. It’s always a balancing act. After decades of Weight Watchers and other crazy diets I now don’t count a single thing. It is the most intuitive way of eating for me for over 3 years now. I pretty much stay at goal weight and still enjoy my red wine, 90% chocolate at weekends and some occassional low carb baking.

Another mineral you may want to supplement is potassium. When weight loss stalls something needs to change. Firstly it could be that you are near your goal weight and so you have found a natural balance, secondly other things might be creeping back in that you have forgotten to count (for example too many creamy coffees or an extra glass of wine). Take a look at how much you are eating for breakfast and dinner, are they too big and actually the same size as 3 meals just eaten in 2? Nuts, dairy and alcohol are generally the biggest culprits in stalling weight loss. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves of the health benefits of LCHF rather than the weight loss. It will happen, albeit slower than we would wish. For me it is about no longer counting anything, no longer being on the sugar roller coaster, improved nutrition and no longer having any guilt surrounding every meal or snack. This sounds wonderful! I’ve had the original version with sugar, before, and it is really good. I haven’t made this yet, but I’m going to cook the crust on a cookie sheet, so it will be easier to plate. If I decide to make the chocolate whipped cream version, I will use dissolved gelatin in the cream, to keep the whipped cream stable. Where I live, this dessert is called “Fat man’s dessert”. Decades ago, the school lunch ladies made a dessert like this, with a Graham cracker crust, but they flavored the chocolate pudding with peppermint. It was yummy, too!

Hi Cherie, you can use coconut milk. Some people have had problems with the chocolate layer setting up when the almond milk is mixed with it the next day. It’s usually because they didn’t cook the pudding long enough. If your pudding isn’t super thick and almost solid, then don’t add the extra milk. Oh how I wish I had read the comments before I attempted this.. brand new spring form leaked considerably while I was out of the kitchen.. house filled with smoke, etc. had to pull the cake out of fhe oven half way through..clean the oven etc By the time it went back in the oven it didn’t have a chance and had already sunken in. If someone wanted to cut the time then they could do like you suggested and make some of it the day before. This dessert is absolutely delicious! It took me a long time to make it. I’m not much of a cook. It’s a bit expensive but worth it. The only mistake was when preparing the first layer ( cream cheese layer), I put all of the sweeteners in with heavy cream at once which stopped my cream from whipping up. Is the Stevia a necessary component to making the dish work or is it just an extra sweetener to coincide with the Erythritol? We’ve tried several versions of Stevia, and I just can’t seem to find my way past the after-taste, even in small amounts. I’ve been reading that it’s used to counter something about the Erythritol, but I wasn’t sure if that was the case here (and honestly have been too shy to ask anyone else lol).

Hi I’m new to Keto. I have been reading about it, and understanding what to eat and what not to eat. My problem is I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. I’m constantly hungry whereas information reads that I will never be hungry. I use fats as required along with topping up with vegetables in my meals yet this does not fill me up. I haven’t experienced the Keto flu and I’ve even put on weight! I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now. Any ideas where I am going wrong.

That sounds like a good idea! I also try to avoid gums/thickeners most of the time, but haven’t found a good replacement for pudding. I’ve never tried gelatin though – it might work! I’d start with the same amount and then see if you might need more than the amount of xanthan gum to get it thick enough. Let me know how it goes if you give it a try. 

I finally got the time and mind set to make this dessert, I have been wanting to do it for so long now but felt a bit intimidated by it. I will say right now that I shouldn’t have been, it went very smoothly and I did all the layers in 1 hr. and 10 min. time :) I did bake the crust and let it cool on the counter for about 15 min. then stuck it in my freezer while the pudding was in the fridge cooling. All the layers are put together and it is sitting in my fridge just waiting for me to dig in. Can I just skip supper tonight and eat this instead!?!?! I know it will taste delicious because all the layers on their own are delicious. Thank you for all your recipes!!
