I adjusted the servings to halve the recipe. Your ingredient calculator only adjusts the first amount. For example: 300 g/10.5 oz. Unsweetened chocolate. Metric will adjust, but not the imperial. Ingredient measurements switch places for almond flour and powdered erythritol, so it’s the imperial instead of metric measurements that will adjust. Luckily I noticed prior to purchasing or cooking. It looks really good!
Hi, I have been giving ditch the carbs a go…so far only in the form of bread,pasta,rice, this was quiet hard for me as I didn’t realise how much I got through a day! I’m a fussy meat eater as I was a veggie for a number of years so still only eating veggie quorn. I don’t drink fizzy drinks or alcohol. I have already cut out cakes/biscuits apart from the odd biscuit! I typically eat scrambled eggs with turkey, a piece of wholebread toast and coffee for breakfast, salad and breast of chicken with vegetables for lunch and something similar (chicken or red meat or salmon) for dinner, with 2 snacks of 3 rice cakes with 150 gr. of turkey and a protein shake if I go to the gym (weights training 3x week). In the first 3 months of eating like this my % fat went down from 17.5 % to 14 % (44 yr old male), while keeping weight constant, but another 4 months later I stay the same. NOTE: I’m a little nervous about the super sweet blend. I’m imagining that extra stevia has been added to bump up the sweetness. Made this for my church Christmas Potluck. Flavors were amazing but dish was a soupy mess, even after refrigerating for almost 24hrs. I used option 2 that does not call for the xanthan gum. The recipe called for “heavy cream” which I used. Should I have used “heavy whipping cream?” “Pecan meal” I used was “pecan chips” made by “Fisher”. Finally, the parchment paper seemed to disintegrate into the bottom layer of the dessert 🙁 please help! We love this dessert and want to nail it!

When weight loss stalls something needs to change. Firstly it could be that you are near your goal weight and so you have found a natural balance, secondly other things might be creeping back in that you have forgotten to count (for example too many creamy coffees or an extra glass of wine). Take a look at how much you are eating for breakfast and dinner, are they too big and actually the same size as 3 meals just eaten in 2? Nuts, dairy and alcohol are generally the biggest culprits in stalling weight loss. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves of the health benefits of LCHF rather than the weight loss. It will happen, albeit slower than we would wish. For me it is about no longer counting anything, no longer being on the sugar roller coaster, improved nutrition and no longer having any guilt surrounding every meal or snack. Keep up electrolytes. The major electrolytes in our bodies are sodium, potassium and magnesium. Hi Cyn, The numbers are general guidelines but will vary depending on many factors, such as activity level, insulin resistance, weight and more. There is no single magic number, just conventional recommendations that are a good starting point. I will have a macro calculator coming soon that will help determine what is best for each person, but even then it’s an approximation. The only way to know for sure is to test. If keto is your goal, it’s usually best to start lower and then see if you can stay in ketosis when increasing.
Now I am having the same problem with my youngest when he turned 1 -_- BUT I have discovered a few months ago both my boys will happily scoff back a vege/chicken curry I make, so I make that once or twice a week (I roast up 2 big chickens and cook extra veges, then use the left overs the next day to make it. Or sometimes make up Cauliflower curry soup from the Wheat Belly book if cauliflower is nice and cheap, and use that.) Unfortunately they will only eat it with rice, but for me personally I would rather them have a decent amount of veges a couple of days a week than cut out the rice completely so it is a compromise I am willing to take 🙂

Hi Lisa, Sorry you had issues with it. It’s hard to say what went wrong without being in the kitchen with you but can try if you can provide more info. Which version were you making? Are you talking about the pudding layer with version 1? If so, it does firm up more in the fridge but you also need to add enough xanthan gum to make sure it thickens. Let me know what step seemed off and if anything was different from the instructions.

Hi Libby. Re foods to eat. Still a newbie and exploring all this. Re the foods for example cocnut cream- is there a specific brand or type you,should buy? Same with butter and meats- re grass fed versus grain fed. Coconut oil- is there ones you should or shouldn’t use brand wise. Lchf site says grass fed meat and butter. Does it have to say organic on the butter. Labelling is really bad in regards to this. And your cheeses- re Brie for,example- are they all they same or are there certain ones of them you have to buy ? This goes for all cheese that you can have to- are there ones better for you than others?

Great questions Melissa. I think the gentle sweet is an erythritol and stevia blend and is granulated, correct? I would try using just a little less of the super sweet blend and taste after all of the ingredients have been added. If you need to, add as many doonks of powdered sweetener as you need. If you have the regular GS, use the same amount as specified in the recipe and then add 2-3 doonks, tasting as you go.

To be honest, I have not eaten every item in the box, and was hoping they would be so amazing that they would not have a chance to survive. Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case. First off, if you don't have diabetes, DON'T GET IT. It ruins EVERYTHING. Now, back to the stuff I can't eat. This "candy" is a wonderful idea for diabetic chocolates but for me, this particular item fell short. From what I've had so far, the Russell Stover sugar free is just a good, if not better. Our local grocery store has bulk sugar free chocolate which, to me, has a better, more realistic flavor. Hi I’m new to Keto. I have been reading about it, and understanding what to eat and what not to eat. My problem is I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. I’m constantly hungry whereas information reads that I will never be hungry. I use fats as required along with topping up with vegetables in my meals yet this does not fill me up.
